Summer Day Camps

Empire United Fencing’s Summer Day Camp offers a fun, active, and confidence-building experience for children ages 6–12. The camp is designed for both brand-new fencers with no prior experience and beginner fencers with 0–2 years of experience. All fencing equipment is provided.

Pre Summer Nationals Camp

With Harvard Coach Jed Dupree

We are excited to welcome Harvard foil coach and founding coach of Empire United Fencing, Jed Dupree, for our Pre–Summer Nationals Training Camp, running June 20–25. This camp is designed to help competitive fencers prepare both physically and mentally for Summer Nationals.

Camp sessions will run daily from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Jed Dupree, alongside Empire United’s coaching staff, will lead high-level training sessions including yoga, conditioning, footwork, mental preparation, tactical training, and intensive bouting.

This is a continuous training camp with no scheduled breaks, so fencers should arrive prepared for sustained, focused work. The camp is intended for serious competitors looking to sharpen performance and readiness heading into national-level competition.

Each day, campers rotate through a structured mix of fencing instruction, athletic development, games, and supervised bouting. Sessions focus on developing coordination, footwork, blade skills, tactical awareness, and sportsmanship in an age-appropriate and engaging environment. Instruction is carefully scaled so that new fencers build strong fundamentals while more experienced beginners continue to refine their technique and understanding of the sport.

Empire United’s expert coaching staff brings experience spanning youth development through Olympic-level competition. Coaches emphasize proper fundamentals, safe progression, and positive reinforcement to ensure every camper feels challenged, supported, and motivated.

The week concludes with the Empire United Challenge, culminating in a Friday in-house tournament where campers can showcase what they’ve learned in a fun, supportive competitive setting.

Camp runs Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Campers are expected to bring their own lunch each day. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available upon request for an additional fee. Participants should arrive in athletic clothing and sneakers; all fencing gear, including masks, weapons, and protective equipment, is provided.
